FAQ

Is something still unclear?
We have the answers!

How much does a tattoo cost?

The price of a tattoo depends on many factors – just like with a car, you can’t give a set price without details. It depends on the design you want, its size, style, placement on the body, the amount of detail, and the complexity of the project.

We don’t have a fixed price list – each tattoo is priced individually after a consultation. The best option is to visit us in person, but if that’s not possible, send us a message or call us and we’ll do our best to give you an estimate.

Do you do first-time tattoos?

Absolutely! Many of our clients come to us for their first tattoo. During a consultation, we’ll explain everything – from preparing the design to the tattooing process and aftercare.

There’s no need to stress – we guide you step by step so your first tattoo is a safe and positive experience.

From what age can I get a tattoo?

We offer tattoos for minors from the age of 16, but only with written consent from a parent or legal guardian. The consent must be signed in person at the studio in the presence of our team.

The guardian must bring a valid ID – a note with a signature from home is not accepted.

Do you need to pay a deposit?

Yes, we require a tattoo deposit when booking your appointment, and it’s non-refundable. The deposit ensures your artist can prepare your design and that your time slot is reserved just for you.
If you need to reschedule, you can do so a maximum of two times, provided you give us at least 72 hours’ notice before your session.

Failing to do so will result in the deposit being forfeited and a new one required.

How can I prepare for my tattoo session?

It is worth preparing so that the session goes smoothly and comfortably.
Get a good night’s sleep, eat a proper meal (really – don’t come on an empty stomach!), and avoid alcohol or blood-thinning medication for at least 24 hours before your session. Wear comfortable clothes that allow easy access to the area being tattooed.

For longer sessions, bring water or snacks – we’ll take care of the rest.

Can I bring someone with me?

You can bring one companion – just not a whole group of friends.
For hygiene and safety reasons, they will need to wait in the lounge during your session.
Only the client and the tattoo artist can be in the tattoo room.

Children and pets are unfortunately not allowed in the studio for safety and hygiene reasons.

When can I discuss my design with the tattoo artist?

You can book a free tattoo consultation, where we’ll go over your idea, preferred style, placement, and all the details.

If you’d rather skip the consultation, we’ll discuss everything on the day of your session and the artist will prepare your design accordingly.

What language does my tattoo artist speak?

We’re a truly international tattoo studio. In addition to Polish, all our artists speak English.
For foreign clients, communication is not an issue – our manager is fluent in German, English, and Danish, and can assist with translation.

Some of our artists also speak Ukrainian and Russian.

When will I see the design?

Your tattoo design is prepared on the day of your session. We’ll go over all the details, adjust the size, and show it to you before we start.

We don’t send designs in advance, as we work individually and often make real-time adjustments to ensure the tattoo fits you perfectly.

When can a tattoo touch-up be done?

We usually ask clients to send us a photo of the healed tattoo about 4–6 weeks after the session. Based on that, we’ll determine if a touch-up is needed.
Touch-ups are free if you followed all the tattoo aftercare instructions we gave you.

An exception applies to tattoos on hands and fingers – these areas are delicate, heal unevenly, and often require extra work. In that case, we charge a small fee, which we’ll let you know about after receiving the photo.

Why was my tattoo idea rejected?

We try to take on every idea, but we only work on designs we fully connect with and can execute to our highest standard.
If your concept doesn’t match the tattoo style of our artist or can’t be done well technically, we’ll decline it. The same goes for popular internet motifs, repeated trends, or copies of existing tattoos – we respect other artists’ work and want to create something unique for you.

We’ll also say no if the design is too small for the chosen body part or if we know it will blur over time. Better to do nothing than create a tattoo you’ll regret later.

Do you do cover-ups?

Yes, we do cover-up tattoos – and we know how to do them right. Each cover-up is unique, so it’s best to send us a photo of your old tattoo or visit us in person.

We’ll assess what can be done – it depends on the color, depth, shape, and any existing scarring.

I want to change the design. Is that possible?

In most cases, changing your tattoo design is possible – just let us know at least 3 days before your session.
The sooner you inform us, the better – it gives us time to prepare a new project and ensure the final tattoo meets your expectations.

I take medication. Can I get a tattoo?

It depends on the type of medication.
If you’re on antibiotics – getting tattooed is a no-go, you’ll need to wait until your treatment is over.

If you’re taking blood-thinning medication, consult your doctor first to see if you can stop it a few days before the session. Otherwise, there’s a risk of excessive bleeding and complications during the tattooing process.

How long does a tattoo take to heal?

The tattoo healing process usually takes 2–4 weeks, depending on size, placement, and your skin type. During this time, follow our tattoo aftercare instructions to avoid infections and keep the design looking its best.

Can I get a tattoo after tanning or using a tanning bed?

We don’t recommend tattooing freshly tanned skin. After sun exposure or tanning beds, the skin is irritated, dehydrated, and doesn’t take ink well. Wait at least 2 weeks after tanning before getting a tattoo – it will improve both comfort and the final result.

Do you do color and black & grey tattoos?

Yes! We create both color tattoos and black & grey tattoos. All the inks we use comply with EU REACH regulations, meaning they’re safe and approved for use within the European Union.

Do you do tattoos in specific styles like realism, neotraditional, or fineline?

Yes, our team specializes in many tattoo styles – from realism to neotraditional, fineline, and dotwork. Each of our artists has their own unique style, so we’ll match you with the right tattooist for your idea.

Can I get a tattoo while pregnant or breastfeeding?

We do not tattoo people who are pregnant or breastfeeding. This is for your safety and your baby’s health – even with sterile conditions, there’s still a risk we want to avoid.

Does getting a tattoo hurt?

Pain levels vary from person to person and depend on placement, your pain tolerance, and the length of the session. Our tattooists do everything they can to keep you comfortable and will take breaks if needed.

Is getting a tattoo safe?

Yes, we work in sterile conditions, using single-use needles and REACH-compliant inks. Our tattoo studio meets all sanitary requirements to ensure your safety.

How can I book an appointment at Black Skulls Crew?
